It is no coincidence that the city of Paris welcomes several tourists every year. There are many things to do and discover. This is particularly the case for walks in the green spaces of the capital. There are a multitude of them, including the Luxembourg Garden where various exhibitions have been held in recent years. In 2019, this enchanting setting will house others, in addition to all the activities that can be done outside of any event.
The exhibition Alphonse Mucha from Paris
The cultural programme of the Jardin du Luxembourg is mainly marked by music concerts and photographers' image exhibitions at the grid level. Located on the edge of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter, you can easily access it from a hotel in the 5th arrondissement of Paris in order to enjoy everything that is organized there.
This is the case, for example, of the exhibition Alphonse Mucha. Having started on 12 September 2018, it will be held until 27 January 2019 at the Musée du Luxembourg built within the garden. This is an opportunity for you to discover the many works of this internationally renowned Czech artist. Beyond his creations with an assertive style that have earned him the reputation of being the master of Art Nouveau, this exhibition is also an opportunity to learn more about his personality.
This event is not the only one that will take place in this emblematic place of the city of Paris. For the moment, the new exhibitions, i.e. those starting in 2019, are not yet known. As usual, the organisers are reluctant to reveal information before they have perfectly fine-tuned each project. Until you know more, you can still enjoy the garden's attractions.
The attractions of the Luxembourg Garden
The Luxembourg Garden is one of the most visited tourist sites in Paris. You will find more on 1001expeditions.fr. This is justified by the great beauty of the place. It is pleasant to stroll around and discover all the wonders that are to be found there. This is the case, for example, of the orchid collection and the rose garden of rare beauty, or the orchard which produces varieties of old apples.
The garden also has about a hundred statuettes scattered here and there. You can learn more about them on guided tours, usually on the first Wednesday of each month from April to October. Facilities such as rides and slides are provided for children. Adults can enjoy playing bridge, chess, tennis or sailing on a sailboat in the large pool separating the English and French parts.
The Medici fountain remains the main attraction of this park. Considered one of the most romantic places in Paris, it is not strictly reserved for lovers. It is pleasant to stroll around, to contemplate the two statues that adorn the side niches, or simply to relax and let your mind travel. It is a true haven of peace to visit absolutely.
